Italics are Sun Belt games. For the first time (I think), the FIU-FAU game will not be played at JRS. Also, FIU will probably go 1-3 out of conference but they have a decent shot at the 6 win threshold this year.

FIU should have beat them last year, but the secondary was severely banged up, missing both starting safeties and one of their main back ups and our All Sun Belt corner dropped at least two picks in the 4th alone.

And now they are playing in our campus with potential conference implications. Should have a pretty good crowd there.

Dasher absolutely slaughtered FIU in 2007, but last season they handled him pretty well. He scrambled well, but the passing game was nonexistent.

The thing about Troy is that FIU could realistically be riding a 3 game winning streak into a big conference matchup at home vs Troy. FIU is planning on making a big deal about that game, doing a Blackout and all that, so they're gonna be pumped. I would say they have a better chance against Troy than MTSU or ASU.

I know that, it's certainly possible.

But I really don't think this team is good enough yet to walk into a BCS conference stadium and steal a win.

They may not necessarily be more talented than FIU, but I still don't think we have the bodies on the line to win this type of game. We're going to win our 5-7 games this year almost exclusively because of our skill positions.

Smaller teams like FIU that have a recruiting base in South Florida aren't really going to have trouble finding players to fill the skill positions. What comes with being a bigger program is dominance on the line.

Also, Rutger's is just had 54,000 people at the Cincy game. We aren't ready to handle that type of atmosphere and win, I think. They are probably marginally better, but I think we could win at home. but going in there with 40+ k fans is going to make a big difference.

Not sure what to expect out of the crowd for this Saturday. Haven't seen too much publicizing for it, so I'd be very, very surprised if it's anywhere close to a sell out.

If they don't beat Toledo it's going to be very tough to make anything out of this season, as it would require going 6-2 against the Sun Belt to even be Bowl Eligible (Since WGL @ UF). Toledo's passing game is really efficient and effective, so if Ash Parker and Jeremiah Weatherspoon aren't playing at safety (they didn't against Rutgers), Toledo is going to go over top all day. Getting pressure would be nice too.

T.Y is very good. Our defense isn't. Paul McCall gets hit way to many times a game.

Our defense has the ability to be ok. We are really missing Ash Parker, as he's far and away our best tackler, and would do wonders against the run.

We do have real problems against teams that can bring a big back into the game, as our linebackers are too undersized to bring them down easily. We've got speed to stop fast guys, but if you want to run it run into us, we have no answer.
