lol 0-27 with RISP in Cinny, didnt realize it was that awful.
Pirates are averaging less than 2 runs a game during their 7 game losing streak.
Chris Volstad, ladies and gentlemen.
Marlins 0 for last 30 RISP
one off team record

Stanton is in scoring position when he's at the plate though.

You know those rating systems are flawed! They don't take into account houses with more than one television set - and things of that nature!

Okay, seriously, why the hell was Volstad pulled after only throwing 62 pitches? Yes, I know the bases were loaded but are we going to start pulling are starters whenever they load the bases now?
A pitcher that is prone to the long ball, yes you pull him with the bases loaded.
Volstad needs to get his fucking shit together quick. There is no way he is this flipping horrid.

Volstad's going to be quite the hit in Korea. I don't think they've ever seen a pitcher that tall, awkward, and drunk.

Prone to long balls? We're not talking about Ricky here. Volstad has been a lot better about not giving up the homerun ball as much as last year.
And, speaking of Ricky, would he have been pulled? Probably not even though he leads the team in homers allowed so don't give me that long ball crap.
Volstad was keeping his sinker down today. He had a better shot at getting out of that inning in better shape than handing it over to a very tired and overworked bullpen. Besides, they need to let Volstad at least try to get out of it. Pulling him in situtikns like that (and this is the third time in a row that he's been hooked quickly in the 6th inning) is just going to ruin his confidence.

When did you want him to be pulled? Gave up a single, doesn't hold runners, bb, hit batter, did you think he was going to get out of a jam?
You know what else hurts his confidence? All those hits and walks he allows. And the part where he's not good at pitching.

Volstad sucks with RISP
and if you care about his ego and confidence, then you would keep him down in the minors where he was actually doing good, then exposing him by major leauge hitters.

You need to give him a chance to work out of his own jams. Constantly pulling him in the 6th inning whenever a guy gets to 2nd is not going to give him any confidence to get out of things on his own. And Edwin got Tank and Sanches up almost right after the single. That's just stupid.
You know the ironic thing? Volstad is Cy Young reincarnated in video games.

If it was a different pitcher and he was not pulled in that situation, (well obviously if it was a different pitcher you wouldn't care so much because it would really just concern the Marlins and not Chris Volstad), you would have had a super awesome freak out that would go something like this: I CANT BELIEVE HE WAITED UNTIL WE FELL OUT OF THE GAME TO REMOVE A STRUGGLING STARTING PITCHER, WHY WOULD YOU LET A GUY TRY TO WORK OUT OF SOMETHING WHEN HE HAS CLEARLY LOST IT.
Or if it was somebody else and he took the pitcher out, you would say something more like, really impressed with Edwin, he got somebody up and warming right away and he got him in there before the crappy starter let the game get out of hand.
Thats what you would have done.
