just saw this

http://marlins.selftitled.net/images/cousinssplit.PNG

so he's improving against RHP while regressing LHP as he moves up the pitching ranks

Going by my absolutely unfallable perfect system of projection

This would put him at about a .266/.325/.436/.761 OPS against RHP
And just .234/.280/.401/.681 OPS against LHP, doing nothing but changing BB% and K%

pretty god damn drastic.

Next season

Cousins/Maybin/Carroll

With whoever out of Petersen/Miller/Ryanor winning the 4th OF job platooning with Cousins? All are RHB afterall

Is what I hope

it won't happen though

I mean

just think of a cousins/maybin/carroll defense

that's too good for beinfest

god forbid beinfest put good defensive players on the field

easy solution: platoon cousins and carroll

but carroll doesn't have drastic splits

which is also basically my only response to your pm

infacting, going against your i don't know if carroll could iso against rhp, he's career iso against RHP is higher than against LHP

.243 v.s. .161 lol

in the minors, yeah, he doesn't. and i don't like basing stuff off under 100 pa's but his ML splits are pretty drastic.

this is where a scouting report would be helpful - basically, do ML scouts think he can't hit ML RHP, and that's why he's hitting shitty against ML RH pitching, or is it just a lack of opportunity and would even itself out over the course of his career?

if it's the former, then a platoon makes sense, becuase carroll's mashed lefties in his brief ML stints. if it's the latter, then maybe a different story.
