Cogs got a hit

wanks1212
05-09-2010, 12:56 PM
unfortunately, said hit was not of the extra base variety. but hey, baby steps.

What happened to Bob Carpenter? Did he finally just kill himself? I thought he was still with the Nationals but that guy always thought the Nats were a legitimate title contender and by the end of May he was positively inconsolable. It was the closest thing to Major League that I've heard.
--------------------
That was pretty incredible. Never seen a ball roll completely on the line like that.
--------------------
At least Chris Coghlan showed up today. 2/2

Welcome to the Mendoza line.

Florida Marlins: where fundamentals go out the window.

Swifty
05-09-2010, 02:18 PM
Not sure why you go get Anibal there. He wasn't pitching that badly.

Ramp
05-09-2010, 02:19 PM
100 pitches in 4.1 though

for someone with arm/elbow issues in the past, I don't mind that decision

MiamiHomer
05-09-2010, 02:20 PM
Got no problem taking him out there, he's been having to work a lot for only 4.1 innings.

Ramp
05-09-2010, 02:22 PM
nice work Leroux

Swifty
05-09-2010, 02:23 PM
I'm not saying let him get the 6th, but Pudge is pitchable.

I think there's something kind of demoralizing about not letting a starting pitcher finish the 5th. Not a huge deal either way though.

Our lineup makes scoring runs look so difficult.

Ramp
05-09-2010, 02:30 PM
doesn't help that Livan is pitching out of his mind this year

TealMonster08
05-09-2010, 02:33 PM
Does anyone remember the last time we scored a run in any of the first 5 innings of a game?

Friday

Chewford
05-09-2010, 02:35 PM
I was referring to the last week and how painful watching our lineup has been. We have of course faced good pitching but still.

wanks1212
05-09-2010, 02:36 PM
as joecapMARLINS points out, Uggla is 9 for his last 50 after his hot start

TealMonster08
05-09-2010, 02:37 PM
Ah yes, the C Ross RBI double in the 2nd, other than that though, I believe it was the last Washington series. We like to hit in the 6th-9th.

Swifty
05-09-2010, 02:48 PM
It's kind of awesome that the Marlins are like a real life version of playing MLB The Show on PS3 and just hitting power swing on every pitch.

What in the fuckin fuck are you swinging at Cantu.

Beef
05-09-2010, 03:13 PM
that shouldve been homers

Swifty
05-09-2010, 03:13 PM
I don't care that it got a run in, that's among the worst AB's I've ever seen with the bases loaded.

TealMonster08
05-09-2010, 03:13 PM
Ill take the sac fly, but he swung at 3 balls.

Chewford
05-09-2010, 03:13 PM
Fuck you, wind.

MiamiHomer
05-09-2010, 03:14 PM
None of that pitches were anywhere near to being strikes.

Chewford
05-09-2010, 03:14 PM
Also, yeah, Cantu should have just held up and walked with the bases loaded.

Swifty
05-09-2010, 03:16 PM
It's hard to hold up when you keep pressing the square button.

Chewford
05-09-2010, 03:16 PM
I don't care that it got a run in, that's among the worst AB's I've ever seen with the bases loaded.

Did you see Hanley in game 2 of the giants series? That was worse methinks.

MiamiHomer
05-09-2010, 03:16 PM
Yeah no check swings with the square button but all we needed was the X button there.

Swifty
05-09-2010, 03:17 PM
Fucking fuck

MiamiHomer
05-09-2010, 03:18 PM
You would think after all the times we see the same fucking bullshit occur when we have the bases loaded but it's still just a irritating. Maybe Baker can change that here, but I doubt it.

TealMonster08
05-09-2010, 03:18 PM
Tyler Clippard blows leads to get wins. I think he has a 10 win incentive in his contract, and bitch wants to get paid. He has a chance to get number 6.

Chewford
05-09-2010, 03:19 PM
Bases loaded, no outs. Only 1 run scored in the inning. And that's not the first time that's happened in the past week. Fucking A.

You would think having no one out, bases loaded, and the heart of your order coming up, they would be able to do something besides shit all over the place.

Me too, but id prefer if it happened in a game we won, and not in the late innings of a tie game. :fist

I've seen like 4 people say this recently. Are you guys being serious?

TealMonster08
05-09-2010, 03:38 PM
If we dont hit well in Chicago, and lose the series, would anyone be surprised to see Stanton by the time we play NY? Our hitting has been shit lately, I dont care who we've had to face.

Chewford
05-09-2010, 03:39 PM
I just listened to The Final Countdown in entirety because of you, Swift! :fist
