FIP are you going to keep a season record with units?
He didn't use it, so he losed it

I wasn't planning on it but I can if you'd like me to.

I'll be keeping track of my plays this year with a spreadsheet for some fun analysis. Won't use units but I'll post my dollar amounts weekly.

04-06-2010, 12:09 AM
What will be on said spreadsheet? I'm just making a list of my plays that I send off to my handicapper.

As long as you don't do one of those threads where you recognize the wins but not the losses I will be happy.
But yes a season long thread with a record and a unit count would make me even happier (I think you're a pretty good capper and I'm curious to see how you do). I think you and I would both agree that these threads are relatively lame unless proper data is recorded as to evaluate it at the end of the season.

I will recognize the losses don't worry. I'm just not so good with units.

I'll help you with the units.
All favorite plays are to win one unit.
Example: If you take Rays @ -140, you're betting 1.4 units to win 1 unit. So if you win you win 1 unit but if you lose you lose 1.4 units.
If you take the Nationals at +170 and you win, you win 1.7 units and if you lose you only lose 1 unit.
Does that help?
I'll break down your 4 plays so far this season into a unit count to make it more clear
--------------------
Ok, after your first 4 plays of the season you are +2.00 units
You lost 1 unit on the NYY loss and then you had 3 favorite plays of which you won all three.
This brought you from -1.00 units to +2.00 units.
Does this help?
