Andrew Miller looks sharp. He just dropped a sick slider to get Brian McCann looking.
My illicit love affair with Jason Heyward continues. I've been able to watch him like 6 times this spring.

Logan with a bad brainfart costs the Marlins a run.
I am unimpressed with him thus far

Logan?
He's having a very bad spring. Seems similar to Gaby last year. It's probably the best thing for his long term development.

Wheels are kind of coming off for Miller now. Can't find his fastball.
Logan really cost Miller, he was pitching very well before that error.
It's no excuse though, he needs to learn to stay consistent no matter what.
Defense kills Miller in this inning.

So after what should have been a strike 3 to end the inning, a liner into right that probably should have been caught and definitely should have been kept to a single ends up getting past Petersen all the way to the wall to clear the bases.

Miller pitched better than his line today. I haven't watched him all spring, but he looked pretty good today. Just a series of unfortunate events for him.

I wasn't really that impressed. He had moments, and like always the stuff is there but he loses it to easy.

Yeah typical Andrew Miller start. Probably better than his line, but Andrew Miller is a better pitcher than his career line.

I can't watch the game from work but did Andrew get hurt? Or did he get taken out because he just lost it?

They said he was only slated for 3 innings

3 inning limit and his defense let him down twice in the inning (and the home plate ump blew an easy strike 3 to end the inning). I assume he was at his drop dead pitch count threshold.

It's never a good sign when the mlb.com box score takes this long to update with the opponent batting.

At least the ump is consistent.
Strike 5 to Maybin.

I wish he'd just come out and say that he doesn't want to (or is told not to) give the job to Gaby. It'd make so much more sense than pretending this is still a race.
It's gonna be The Contingency or Lowell.

Hey, maybe this guy (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/03/mariners-release-yusmeiro-petit.html) will help the back of our rotation and, at the same time, bring the Jorge Julio debacle full-circle. :)

I don't see Helms starting, even with how much they seem to not like Gaby.
You can't be a scrappy, crappy, veteran presence if you are starting. That's too much for any one man, and they value his crappiness.

Hector Luna has the ugliest swing i've ever seen, I think.

Your 2010 Joe Nelson award winner is looking to be Clay Hensley.
He's retired 31 of 37 batters faced.

All Hensley has done is generate weak contact. It's been impressive.

We keep stretching him out so I think he may be like this year's Badenhop. Looks like Hopper would then be moving into a middle relief role.

He should be considered for the rotation at this point, especially if Miller and Volstad continue to stink it up.
