Cubs taking on any of Milton's salary?

Great pick up for the Mariners.

Does Milton make the All Star break before the first meltdown?

If Milton Bradley loses it in Seattle he should just end himself.

Well it's a win for the M's to get anything in return for Silva. Although they are sending $9 million to the Cubs, which makes up the $3m in salary Bradley makes over Silva, plus $6.

I expect Bradley to do well splitting time in left and at DH, which should help his durability. Plus, once Junior works his tickle magic, he'll be OPSing .800 again in no time.
--------------------
But Silva's contract is absolutely atrocious. One of the marquee signings of the Bill Bavasi era:

$5 million signing bonus
2009: $11m
2010: $11.5m
2011: $11.5m
2012: $12m mutual option w/ $2m buyout

That's just... wow

I love this deal for the Mariners. It gives them a corner outfielder and a DH when Griffey is not playing.

When looking over Bradley's stats, I was surprised to find out that his career high in RBIs is only 77.

Time will only tell if Bradley makes it through the season without a breakdown. If so, what a steal by the Mariners.

Can't think of a better mentor/influence for him than Griffey

I don't think a guy like Bradley can have a mentor.

Well Seattle is a hot spot for such activity.

I've committed suicide twice since being here, it really is a gas!
