        If he cruises AA, I see him after the all star break if bullpen shenanigans continues. Leo, RVH, Marinez, West, with vet Hensley, Pinto, and Sanches. That's what I'm talking about. All sorts of nasty going on.

                Upper 90s fastball, wicked slider. Throws 3/4 arm angle sometimes. BA top fastball in system. Classic power reliever. Only question is control.

                      Beinfest mentioned several minor league players as potential bullpen call-ups later on this season. The first name out of his mouth -- 21-year old hard-throwing right-hander Jhan Marinez, who was recently promoted to Double A Jacksonville after posting a 1.48 ERA in 24.1 IP for Single A Jupiter. "97-99 mph, all power, big arm, very big arm," Beinfest said of Marinez. "He's a young guy and wetill need to polish him up a little bit. But his slider has come a long way, which he'll need up here. But he's got big-time power stuff."

                          So I finally got to see Jhan Marinez pitch in person tonight. It wasn't pretty. Despite Marines keeping his fastball at 97 mph consistently, he could not throw it for strikes, getting behind in the count against most of the batters he faced in the 8th inning. He mostly threw his fastball but mixed in a few 90 mph sliders that did not look good at all. Because he got so behind in the count he had to rely on his fastball, therefore throwing 97mph cookies, which resulted into a 2-run home run by 2007 first rounder Devin Mesoraco.
                          If Marinez can start to throw strikes and get a better feel on his hard slider, he could be extremely good, but until then, he's a work in progress.

                            You do know that was his only bad outing, and only HR given up, this entire year in 35+ innings.
